About our founder

Michael's Journey

“Fall seven times, rise up eight.”

A picture of overcoming life’s challenges, this mantra of the samurai defines resiliency. At Lion’s Pride Coaches, clients learn that life is not about preventing the knock-down, but about learning how to rise up from adversity to achieve their goals.

Michael Blanton, MBA, CTRC founded Lion’s Pride Coaches in 2021 after breaking free from the shackles of trauma, doubt, shame and fear… common barriers to emotional freedom. He defied the odds through positive spiritualism, mindful study of the human condition and sheer tenacity of will.

Certified in trauma recovery coaching and Namah Shivaya meditation, Michael’s goal is to empower others with the tools needed to break free from their own chains, allowing them to experience the freedom of living their dreams.

about our process

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

For starters, coaching is a peer-to-peer relationship. We do not diagnose mental health disorders, nor do we advise on treatment for mental health disorders. Mental health therapists are specialized to diagnose, treat and monitor mental health disorders. Many people choose to work with both a therapist and a trauma coach. Working on personal goals with someone who has experienced pain, and knows the way through, allows for a judgement-free environment to examine one’s personal challenges.

How does trauma coaching work?

Many unhealthy life patterns are the result of toxic relationships. Therefore, we learn to heal those patterns in the context of healthy relationships. Working with a trauma coach allows you to experience trust, healthy boundaries and the feeling of security. Whether it’s taking your power back from the effects of childhood trauma or changing a pattern of toxic relationships, or if you feel trapped, afraid or simply know that you are not where you would like to be in life, we can re-train your brain in the ways YOU want to think, allowing your dreams to transform into plans. Trauma coaching focuses on where you are today, and more importantly, where you want to be tomorrow.

How do you decide which techniques to use to help me?

Our coaching sessions are 100% client-led. We believe each person already possesses the knowledge and ability to identify their challenges and goals. As trauma coaches, we provide you with tools to access these areas yourself, and work together to discover your potential. We individualize each program to meet YOUR needs.
